If you are one of the 30,000 sponsors asked to file a permanent residency application, the IRCC's guidance describes the steps you must complete. Immigration to Canada from India can be done with the right consultants.

On September 23, Canada began sending out invitations to the Parents and Grandparents Program (2021).

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will send out 30,000 sponsorship invitations to eligible Canadian citizens and permanent residents over the course of two weeks, finishing on October 7.

Sponsors have 60 days to submit their applications to IRCC after receiving their invitation.

Eligibility to get a PGP 2021 between September 23 and October 7

For the 2020 PGP procedure, you must have submitted an interest to sponsor form on the IRCC website in order to receive an invitation (between October and November 2020). No one else will be able to participate in the 2021 process.

“Parents and Grandparents Program Invitation / L'invitation à présenter une demande dans le cadre du Programme des parents et des grands-parents – CPCM / CTDM” is the topic of the email.

Before you submit your sponsorship application, be sure you match the PGP's eligibility requirements, according to IRCC.

You must be at least 18 years old and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or member of a status First Nation.

You (and, if appropriate, your co-signer) must also meet the Minimum Necessary Income criteria (MNI). This includes sending your Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) notices of assessment to IRCC for the tax years 2020, 2019, and 2018. Residents of Quebec must demonstrate that they have met their province's income standards for sponsors in the previous 12 months.

How to submit the application?

While you are not required to employ an immigration lawyer, you may prefer to do so in order to verify that your application is comprehensive and accurate. PGP 2021 applicants may hire an immigration counsel, according to the IRCC.

The following stages are outlined in the IRCC guidance to assist you in preparing and submitting your application:

  1. Gather your documents using the IRCC's paperwork checklist.
  2. Fill out the application completely.
  3. Make a payment for the fees.
  4. Double-check your application for frequent blunders.
  5. Send in your application.

What happens after submitting the application?

On its website, the IRCC lists its current average processing timeframes.

By creating an online account on the IRCC website, the person(s) you are sponsoring will receive rapid email updates as well as more detailed status updates.

Those in Canada and the United States can contact IRCC using this page to inquire about the progress of their application.

Those living outside of Canada should contact the Canadian diplomatic mission in their area.

Canada immigration consultant you are referring to must be genuine and certified.
