What to do if your work permit expires before Albert PNP process completes

Indeed, gaining citizenship in Canada through the provinces is a great method, and many people apply for it. In fact, Alberta PNP is one of the best options available, in terms of location and opportunities. There are three main programs in this matter through which you can apply for this.

One of these programs is based on the Express Entry System and is extremely important to note. However, sometimes issues can come about that can hamper this method and lead to your application getting rejected. After all, a major component for this method is your work permit, and sometimes, the expiration date is an issue.

Indeed, in some cases, this expiration timeline comes before your application process competes, and you need a solution. Therefore, your immigration consultants in Delhi would tell you of these four ways you can renew the said work permit.

Go for an LMIA exemption

Your application is handled under the IRCC and this renewal process falls under its jurisdiction n as well. Furthermore, every applicant requires an LMIA or Labour Market Impact Assessment from their employer in the new job. Under this, you can renew your permit based on the LMIA exemption clauses.

Get a new LMIA approval

When you are applying for a new job in Alberta, your employer needs to provide you with an LMIA. In case of a work permit expiration deadline, you can ask for a new LMIA from your employer. Furthermore, you need to submit it to the IRCC and apply for a renewal.

Bridging Open Work Permit

Another way you can renew your work permit under the Alberta PNP is through the Bridging Open Work Permit application. Indeed, those whose work permit is currently applicable but will expire by 4 months can opt for this. Furthermore, they need to have a Receipt of Acknowledgment from the IRCC board and their file number.

Get a Letter of Support

Moreover, if none of these options worked out, you can use the Letter of Support from Alberta Immigration Board. Indeed, using this letter as proof, you can opt to renew your work permit.

All in all, these methods will help you if your situation is dire, but the effects are not immediate. It is better to stay vigilant about your work permit dates.
